Alcaeus Spyrou (b.1991, Elbasan, Albania) is a filmmaker living and working in Rotterdam and Athens. Heavily influenced by cinema at the turn of the century, montage drives his narratives forward in search of new experiments in storytelling. Through his films, he researches how the video-essay format, can render visible the structural violence of neo-liberal processes and their effects on the landscape; exploring the possibilities of art, within the scope of investigative journalism.
